Sunset Cruise Mallorca — Private Evening Boat Charter from Puerto Portals

Experiences

Sunset Cruises

Watch the Mallorcan sun drop behind the Tramuntana mountains from the deck of your own private boat. Depart Puerto Portals at golden hour and cruise the southwest coast with drinks, music, and your own skipper. Three to four hours of uninterrupted Mediterranean magic.

Your Sunset Cruise Along Mallorca's Southwest Coast

Leave Puerto Portals marina as the light softens over Port Adriano. Your skipper guides the boat south along the dramatic coastline, passing the pine-fringed cliffs near Cala Portals Vells where limestone turns amber in the evening light. The cliffs tower above turquoise water, creating the perfect backdrop for those golden hour photos.

As you cruise further, the coastline opens toward the spectacular headland at Cap de Cala Figuera. Here, the landscape transforms — the cliffs drop away and you have unobstructed views toward Sa Dragonera island and beyond. Your skipper positions the boat between Illetes and the Malgrats islands, the prime sunset viewing position where the sun dips directly into the open Mediterranean in a blaze of coral and gold.

The return journey follows the coast as twilight settles over Palma Bay, with the city lights beginning to glow across the water. The evening is typically glassy calm — water temperatures range from 22-26°C in the summer months — making this the smoothest ride of the day.

Ideal for proposals, anniversaries, birthdays, or simply a memorable evening on the water.

Sunset Cruise FAQ

What time does the sunset cruise depart?

Departure times adjust with the season. In summer (June-August), we typically leave Puerto Portals around 6:00-6:30 PM. In spring and autumn, departures are earlier — around 5:00-5:30 PM. Your skipper will confirm the ideal time when you book.

Where exactly does the boat go?

We cruise south from Puerto Portals along the southwest coast toward Cap de Cala Figuera, passing Cala Portals Vells and the Malgrats islands. The route covers roughly 15 nautical miles round trip and your skipper positions the boat at the best vantage point for sunset — usually between Illetes and the open Mediterranean.

Can we swim during the cruise?

Absolutely. Most groups stop for a swim at a sheltered cove before sunset, when the water is at its warmest (22-26°C in season). Snorkeling gear is on board if you want to explore the rocks.

Is the sunset cruise suitable for children?

Yes. The evening waters off Mallorca's southwest coast are typically the calmest of the day, making it a smooth ride. Life jackets are provided for all ages. Many families combine a swim stop with sunset watching.

What happens if the weather is bad?

We monitor conditions closely and will contact you if we need to reschedule. If winds are above 20 knots or conditions are uncomfortable, we'll offer an alternative date at no extra cost. Safety always comes first.

Can we bring our own food or drinks?

Drinks are included (prosecco, wine, beer, soft drinks). You're welcome to bring a birthday cake or special food. Some guests pre-order a charcuterie board from a local caterer — we can recommend one.
