The 12-nautical-mile stretch south from Puerto Portals holds the highest concentration of hidden beaches in Mallorca. Steep limestone cliffs, centuries-old pine forests, and turquoise shallows over white sand create a landscape unlike anything else on the island.
Cala Portals Vells
Three connected bays carved into the cliff, the innermost cave showing medieval sailor carvings. Shallow, warm water perfect for swimming.
Es Mago
A narrow beach tucked beneath dense pine forest, only accessible by boat or a steep cliff path. Known to locals as Mallorca's most photogenic hidden cove.
Cala Falcó
A tiny cove with gin-clear shallows that barely reaches waist-depth for 20 metres. The safest swimming spot for families with small children.
Cala Vinyes
A wider bay with sandy bottom, ideal as a lunch stop. Calm enough for paddleboarding on most days.
El Toro & the Malgrats Islands
For groups wanting to explore further, the marine reserve around the Malgrats islands offers some of the best snorkeling visibility on the island.
No roads lead to most of these coves. Arriving by private boat is the only way to experience them without the crowds.
