Water temperature 22-26°C from June to October, visibility regularly exceeding 15 metres. The rocky reefs between Puerto Portals and Cap de Cala Figuera host the densest marine life on Mallorca's southwest coast.
Cala Portals Vells
Underwater rock arches and swim-throughs at 3-5 metres depth. Schools of damselfish, ornate wrasse, and the occasional octopus hiding in the crevices.
Malgrats Islands Marine Reserve
Protected waters with larger fish populations. Barracuda, amberjack, and grouper patrol the rocky drop-offs. Posidonia seagrass meadows teeming with juvenile fish.
Es Mago
Rocky boulders beneath the cliff create a maze of swim-throughs at shallow depth. Moray eels and starfish common. The water here stays crystal clear even on windy days due to natural shelter.
El Toro
Rocky reef with deeper water (5-10m) for confident snorkelers. One of the few spots near Puerto Portals where you might spot a sea turtle.
No diving certification needed. Your skipper selects 2-3 different sites per trip based on conditions, so every charter offers something different.
